The City of Buffalo Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency

2017 Housing Opportunity Fund

 

In coordination with Evans Bancorp, Inc. and Evans Bank, N.A., the City of Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency will provide assistance to a limited number of residents through the Housing Opportunity Fund.

Public Notice of Funding Availability – Housing Opportunity Fund

 

Application Process:

 

1. To apply, owner occupants/homeowners must visit the housing partner assigned to their Council District (see reverse side for locations) for pre-screening and document submission instructions.

2. Owners Occupants/Homeowners MUST reside at the address for which they are seeking assistance.

3. All funds will be made in the form of a low interest loan.

4. All current program policies, procedures and eligibility rules for the City of Buffalo Office of Strategic Planning and Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency Housing Assistance Programs (this includes but is not limited to the Emergency, Emergency Roof, Target/Focus, 50/50, Weatherization and Down Payment Assistance Programs) apply.

 

Homeowner Eligibility Information

All funds will be made available through the City of Buffalo Housing Assistance Programs administered by the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency (BURA). Funds are made available in the form of a low interest loan. House-hold income must be within the federal low income guidelines, specifically, less than 80% of the area median based on family size. Applicants must meet program guidelines for eligibility in order to receive assistance. Space is limited.

 

The Housing Opportunity Fund shall be used to support activities including, but not limited to, homeownership, counseling, financial education, and asset building workshops for homebuyers, as well as restoration and development of affordable housing throughout Buffalo, including but not limited to the East Side of Buffalo.
